One of the reasons is because we want to get Marin into her sister's room since she is now sleeping a lot better. Most nights she goes about 10 hours, wakes up around 4 or 5 for some milk, then back down until 7 or so. Sometimes she surprises us and sleeps more than 12 straight hours. Of course, other times she wakes up after 5 hours if she's especially hungry.
And she's 7 months.
And if we wait any longer, she'll be pulling up and standing in her crib bothering her sister when her sister is supposed to be getting used to her in her new room.
And, again, if we wait any longer, Lainey will be ready for a toddler bed, and we don't want to make 2 major changes at once.
That would be chaos. Planning avoids chaos. More people should plan.
I moved Lainey's room around to make room for Marin's crib for when we decide to take that sleep-interrupted-for-a-few-nights plunge.
We also have other plans this fall and winter.
They involve redecorating, rearranging, re-purposing, and really, just revamping the house. Mainly, we're focusing on making a craft room out of the guest room so we can finally unpack all the stuff we've had packed up for the last 3.5 years.
We started by replacing 2 impractical and mismatched recliners in the family room with a new couch.
