Big Stuff

Marin thinks she's a big girl... since she now climbs up on top of chairs (and then onto a table if there is one).

But she sort of is a big girl now.
She doesn't like it when we cut her food up for her and put it on her tray.
She wants whole food, in a bowl and with a spoon.
Actually, she's not all that bad with a spoon, especially for not having us really show or practice with her.

She's a big girl because she's starting to be able to repeat things we ask her to.
This morning, I was asking her to say Lainey.
I was surprised that it came out so understandably.
After all, the 15-month language explosion is upon us.
Real words are fine and all, but my favorite is when she says awww when she sees a baby or a dog.

And this one.

She says the darnedest things.
Or maybe it's just how fast she talks or how old she sounds spitting out complete, full sentences.
Jason and I look at each other a lot in puzzlement these days when she says something so perfectly or something we were not expecting her to say.
Honestly, just watching her identify all the letters of the alphabet kind of blows my mind.
And when she uses the word cute, well, it's just that.

She, too, is a big girl, even if she can't quite keep all the crumbs of her cookie in her mouth.
