Long Time

Again, the length between posts just keeps getting longer and longer.

Too much stuff to do.
Too many things to remember.
Too hard to take pictures without Marin stopping what she's doing and coming to me to see the camera (hence the lack of Marin pictures, but trust me, she's getting big and more blonde).
Too much worrying that the neighbor kid (he's 25 and still lives at home), who now works a late shift, is going to wake up the girls from their nap while he plays with his toys (1 car, 1 jeep, 2 motorcycles and 1 dirt bike).  Uh, yeah.

So let's try to update this:

#1: I took the girls back to Kansas for a week this month, with Aunt Jenni's help.  The girls did great, and it was nice to have a few extra hands.

Grandpa Applegate showed the girls how to throw rocks in the pond in the backyard (maybe regrettably), so that kept them busy when they went outside.

One day Lainey was saying something about cake to Grandma.  Of course Grandma thought she was asking for some, when, most likely, she was just wanting to get out some pots and pans to play with.  Grandma decided right then and there to make a chocolate sheet cake.

And we ate Mexican food.  That is a must when we go back to Lawrence.

One day we went to Nana and Grandpa Blankenship's.  No pictures there, except for this one I made Jenni take.  Who can resist the cow resting her head on her calf?

We visited friends and did other things (like eat Runza), but, unfortunately, no other pictures were taken.

#2:  The other day Lainey was hauling dirt from one area of the backyard to another.  That's nothing new.  Jason asked if she wanted a dump truck for that.  "Sure!"  He went out and bought her one that night while she slept.

I tried to get pictures of Marin this same day while I had the camera out, but she wasn't feeling too well.  She'd been really whiney for a few days, then got a fever that day.  Thankfully, it only lasted that one day and was better the next morning (good thing, since we'd have to pay full price for everything now that our health insurance has disappeared changed).  She is back to her silly self, dancing like a crazy and learning all sorts of new, short phrases.

#3:  And finally, weekday visits from Jenni are the best!
