Pumpkin Patch

This year we went to Red Barn Farm outside of Weston for pumpkin picking.  The last time we were here was for a friend's wedding, during which Lainey was just a small thing cooking inside me.  It was a cold, windy, cloudy day, but when it rains during harvest, you take advantage of your days off since you don't know when the next one will be!  (And since Jason missed last year's pumpkin patch visit altogether due to a hunting trip, it was a priority this year.)

The girls were especially excited that they had pony rides; last year at the Maple Leaf Festival in Baldwin, they wanted to ride the ponies, but they seemed too small (or the ponies too big) at the time, so they didn't.  Neither one of them hesitated or seemed nervous at all.

After visiting the other farm animals and draft horses, we had some lunch and donuts and took a ride out to the fields of pumpkins.  Maybe next year we will make it down to Louisburg Cider Mill, which I have wanted to go to since moving back.  For now, we are looking forward to the Maple Leaf Festival, maybe another pumpkin patch, and the Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade so we can see some more draft horses!

And here is #3 with our pumpkins.  30 weeks has never come faster.  I wish the weeks would slow down - a little!
